In general, talking about ethical business implies that whatever the company does, its responsibility is to promote the so called greatest good and to be in compliance with the greatest human welfare.
Additionally, the behaviour of the company should respect rights and human rights and duties. As not only has the client/employee the right to be respected or treated in a particular way but it also entails that an employee/employer has the duty to treat the person this way in order to think and act in an ethical way. But the concept of fair treatment is not an easy one.
Consequently, making certain decision and taking actions which influence other people should always consider whether the treatment of everybody is fair and equal. On the other hand, rights and fair treatment are accompanied by the concepts of virtues and morality, seeing that we also have to take into consideration what is virtuous and what is not.
The combination of all these shall work towards common good and constitute a very solid base of an ethical company known for being credible, anti-discriminative and socially and ethically responsible.
When thinking of the business ethics, the company ought to first rely on the values of their employees, it should work in compliance with laws, give advice and remind the employees of the business ethics and secure corresponding management of values.
